Colapesce, byname of Lorenzo Urciullo, originally from Solarino, Sicily, was born in 1983. His name of art is inspired by a Sicilian legend in which Colapesce, an expert fisherman, decided to stay underwater to hold up the Island so that it couldn't sink into the sea. Lorenzo Urciullo approached music when he was a child, although, before becoming a songwriter, he tried other paths. After his degree in Communication and Publishing, he started pursuing a career as a journalist. In the early 2000 he chose his path to a music career with the indie band Albanopower. In 2010 he started his first solo project and in 2012 he won the Tenco Prize with the album "Un meraviglioso declino". Some consider him to be the spiritual heir of big Italian songwriters such as Dalla and Battiato. Today he is part of the music duo Colapesce e Di Martino.
