Kylie Hitchcock is an Australian-Canadian screenwriter, director, and producer. She was the 2019 recipient of the Artist of the Year award at the Northern Virginia International Film Festival where her debut feature, The Dog Walker, a psychological thriller, was nominated for eight awards. Kylie's career began on stage, performing in amateur Shakespeare comedies in Australia before shifting to film and television from the early 2000s in Toronto and New York. In 2015 Kylie wrote and directed 'Moral Compass' a narrative short which earned her a Best Director award at the 2016 Atlantic City Cinefest and three Best Short Film nominations. Kylie enjoys working in a variety of genres and her most recent project is writer-director on her sitcom comedy pilot, Wellness Inc. Kylie is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada and the Australian Writers Guild. In 2020, Kylie has commenced the development of her feature project, "The Salad Spinner," and is writing a new Canadian drama, 'The Human Frailty.' In front of the camera or behind, Kylie is a visual storyteller who weaves her diverse life experiences into each story she creates.
