Filipe Araújo has a degree in Communication Studies and a master's in Documentary Film Directing. He is a filmmaker, screenwriter, and editor. Born in Lisbon (1977), he began his career in film after a decade as a journalist - for the press, radio, television, and internet, in Portugal, Spain, and Italy. His filmography, acquired by the Portuguese public service broadcasting since 2011, enjoys four awards, featured in several festivals, broadcast on multiple international TV channels, and screened in venues and events such as Casa del Cinema (Rome, Italy), Círculo de Bellas Artes and Filmoteca Española (Madrid, Spain), or the UNESCOs Universal Culture Forum (Monterrey, Mexico). In 2008 he co-founded the production company Blablabla Media, an independent platform that ensures both his original proposals and his most institutional and commercial works. Within the latter context, Filipe wrote and directed films for numerous foundations and brands, among which are the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Vanity Fair or TAP. Besides directing, Filipe was responsible for the first curriculum of Film and Television Directing course at the Catholic University of Portugal (Master in Communication Studies). In 2015 he was one of MUVI film festival juries.
