Shandel Love was born in San Diego, CA. Shandel is an actress of Native American, Portuguese and Spanish descent. Her mother and father were both actors before joining active duty in the U.S Navy. Shandel began absorbing the performance craft at age nine, performing locally at talent shows. By age thirteen, she received her first award in New York City, NY performing vocally at Carnegie Hall among peers and audience. She attended high school only three years, where she took interest in theater and choir. Receiving an academic scholarship to UNLV, Shandel graduated High School at the age of 17. Upon graduation with a Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts, Shandel moved to Los Angeles where she began to avidly pursue a career in acting. Shandel Love has modeled, appeared in various magazines and music videos. Her first appearance was in the HULU original series, Quickdraw (2013-) a Nancy Hower and John Lehr production. Shandel has trained at the Stella Adler Academy, Groundlings, the late Carolyne Barry Creative, along with numerous award-winning acting and vocal coaches. In 2017, Shandel Love began writing for television. She assisted in the development of two different television series. One titled, "Roberto" directed by Iver William Jallah, who also created the feature thriller film, "Grand Isle" starring Nicholas Cage and Kelsey Grammar. In this television series, Shandel Love plays the lead role of the detective, Julie Lestner, tracking down the top kingpin drug lord to bring peace and justice back to her city. This series is set to be released by Amazon in 2019.
