Efraín Villa is a Mexican American actor and lifelong student of the art of storytelling. He is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, and has lived, worked, and volunteered in more than 70 countries spanning five continents. As a travel writer, he penned stories for numerous national and international publications, and his spoken-word pieces have been featured in various audio platforms, including NPR's Weekend Edition. Efraín was bitten by the acting bug early on in life, while participating in various youth theatre groups as a child and adolescent. He began acting in a professional capacity as a young adult and has since been working in the entertainment industry, both behind and in front of the camera. His passion for the visual and performing arts has also led to successful modeling, photography, videography, and illustration collaborations, in addition to film and television projects. He has found ways to give back to his community by lending his acting skills to institutions specializing in scenario-based crisis de-escalation training primarily developed for municipal public safety departments. As a crisis communications consultant specializing in decolonizing narratives, he is also an ardent supporter of indigenous and LGBTQ rights. An avid adventure sports enthusiast, Efraín enjoys scuba diving, mountain biking, and snowboarding. He also likes to fish, hike, swim, practice yoga, and play piano and guitar.
