Caolan McClafferty

Caolan McClafferty is an Irish born and bred actor and model making a name for himself in British film and TV. After leaving his native city and traveling England, eventually getting to London, he began his passion as a television and film actor and model. He has modeled on the catwalk and in editorial, high fashion and commercial and for leading brands American Eagle and ASOS and has his first feature film releases this year. Born and raised in Derry City, Northern Ireland, Caolan began a career in Interactive Computer Entertainment and Design. With a a career set out in developing computer games; working with Darkwater Studios, the only games developers in Ireland, he decided that this path just wasn't giving him that spark passion he once had. After setting his degree in computing aside, Caolan explored the world of media by studying Media Techniques in Derry's Nerve Centre. Through working behind the camera he discovered accidentally that working in front of the camera was where his passions lay. Delving into acting scene further, he studied a short course in creative writing and stage acting in The Playhouse Theatre, Derry. After completing the course and performing his first ever monologue, Caolan bought a plane ticket for £6 to Liverpool John Lennon Airport and began his journey towards London to become a TV and Film actor. After residing in Liverpool, Wrexham and Birmingham, Caolan finally reached "The Big Smoke" and lived up to his leaving words "I'm going to be on TV" appearing on "The Alan Titchmarsh Show" after just 7 days in the city. Whilst exploring the world of acting, Caolan thought he would give it a stab becoming a model, however, he was turned down by the agency which told him "I'm sorry you just don't have the look, nor what it takes to become a model Caolan". Determination grew to prove this agency wrong and within four months he was modelling high end fashion for well known brands. After being picked up as a catwalk model by Portugese fashion designer Cruz Bueno and performing mutiple shows, Caolan made his first appearance at London Fashion week in 2015 walking in Réka Orosz's nature collection. He was then scouted by Romanian bespoke menswear designer Florin Dobre, who brought him into London Collections: Men and has featured him in every London show ever since; aking appearances in British Vogue and British GQ. Caolan's career as a catwalk model travelled at light speed and he has made an abundance of appearances with major names at London Fashion Week, London Collections: Men, African Fashion Week and performed for various major Charities such as Cancer Research, Macmillan and Mermaids. Caolan's acting career has been steadily shooting upwards since arriving in London and has worked with many talented and well known creatives such as Idris Elba and Tinie Tempah. He has made appearances in award winning short movies such as his very first camera appearance in Twisted Showcases's Press Play [voted top 25 worldwide by The Guardian] and his second appearance on film in Adam Bouabda's Socio Network [won best drama in Yorkshire Television Awards]. With huge catalogue of upcoming releases, Caolan is set to become a prominent figure in the creative arts.
