Mariel Booth is an American fashion model and actress born in Arlington, VA. Mariel grew up doing theater and performing in school plays before being scouted at age thirteen by a modeling agency based in Washington, DC. At age fifteen, Mariel signed with the Next agency in New York and Miami and began modeling part-time around her school schedule. She immediately began booking high-profile fashion editorials for magazines such as Glamour and Seventeen Magazine as well as several covers including Girl's LIfe, New York Magazine, and YM Magazine. After careful deliberation with her parents, Mariel decided to graduate high school a year early at seventeen years old and embark on the full-time modeling career that would take her all over the world for the next six years. She spent time living and working in Milan, Paris, London, Sydney, and Cape Town, among other markets, before eventually settling back down in NYC. While in New York City, Mariel decided to go to college, a goal she had put on hold for her international modeling career. She attended New York University for four years as a Journalism and International Relations major while continuing to model and act in national commercials. As a student at NYU, she was chosen by Maxim magazine as an official finalist in the 2010 Campus Cuties contest and was featured in the magazine as well as online. Mariel has landed principal roles in several national commercials for very popular brands and companies such as StateFarm, eBay, New Balance, Sunsilk, Tommy Girl, Kohl's Department Store, and Head and Shoulders with baseball star Cj Wilson of the Los Angeles Angels. She also recently starred in a comedy sketch by comedic duo BriTANicK and movie star Nathan Fillion that received over 9 million hits on YouTube in the first two weeks of its release.
