Eduardo Macal

Eduardo Arturo Macal Morales (Ecatepec de Morelos, State of Mexico, December 15, 1990) is a Mexican director, screenwriter, producer and post-producer. His filmmaking training start at the beginning of 2009 in the preparatory course of the National School of Cinematographic Arts of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, in Mexico City. Has a bachelor's degree in Arts, Cinematography and Television Business from the Mexican Association of Independent Filmmakers until 2014. After finishing his studies he began working on an action sports channel as an editor, production assistant, and screenwriter. In 2017 he developed his visual technique at Craft, a production company as part of McCann Worlgroup, an advertising agency in Mexico City, based in New York City. He has directed three short films, the last one entitled "Under the Shadow" which was selected at the 2019 International Incorto Festival, the 2020 Miradas Locales Film Festival and the 2020 Gustavo A. Madero City Council International Film Festival. Claudia Olivia, protagonist of the short film, was awarded Best Actress at the AMCI Clapperboard 2021, as well as her producer, M.K.L. Media as Best Advertising Image.
