During this time, Laurence started writing comedy sketches. He later turned to writing dramatic short films. In 2013, Laurence moved back to Chicago to raise his three boys as he continued performing stand-up comedy. Laurence has also been recognized for holding the crowds attention at many Chicagoland entertainment venues, using comedy as an outlet for his work, and an inspiration for his films. While perfecting his filmmaking techniques, he worked with many Chicagoland comedians, casting them in many of his sketches. Sketches that he wrote, filmed, produced, directed, edited, and aired. Laurence has always been attracted to classic films, with TCM being one of his favorite channels.
