James started his directing career at his local theatres where he directed plays such as Hess, Saint Joan and A Long Days Journey Into Night. He was fortunate enough to open at several theatres across Kent, from the Quarter House in Folkestone, to The Brook Theatre in Chatham. James initially entered the film industry as an actor in films such as Wildflower and Death Machine 666. After 2 years of freelancing James joined a film production company where he worked as a line producer on the production of two feature films, Curse of the Witching Tree and House of Salem. Both of these films achieved worldwide distribution. In 2017 James struck out on his own, establishing his own production company - Volatile Pictures, resulting in his debut short film Sir Johnathan.
