Born and raised in Kenya to Mr Anthony Ndinya and Mrs Phelesia Ndinya, Ted Ndinya is the third born of a family of 6 brothers. He didn't come from a well off background growing up so he knew no other way to achieve anything other than through hard work and struggle. Ted is a semi professional tennis player in a game he has played since he was 10 years old. Back then, many had thought his dad was crazy struggling with his sons in a 3rd world country, through thick and thin into a sport that was considered just for the rich. His dad could barely afford to buy them proper tennis shoes each let alone tennis rackets, they had to share 2 old wooden rackets amongst all brothers. They really cared for the rackets that they would take turns to wash them in water to keep them looking new. They all loved the sport so much and were just happy to get some practice time whenever they had a chance. Little did anyone know that their dad had a vision, he always looked 10 steps ahead of time. He simply wanted better education for his sons which would lead to better lives and had seen tennis as the ticket out. All those years of hard work and perseverance eventually paid off as we fast forward to about 8 years later, when they were among the best players in Kenya and good enough to secure tennis scholarships into colleges in America and thats how Ted ended up in USA. Through tennis, he got to travel to various countries competing, became multi cultured by making numerous friends from different places, got a degree in Graphic and Web Design and is currently a Tennis Coach. Tennis has definitely helped shape the course of his life and molded him into the person he is today, from work ethic to self discipline to humility just to mention but a few. He appreciates everything and never takes anything for granted. Its just so unfortunate that his dad didn't live long enough to watch the fruits he planted grow into trees, he unexpectedly passed away in 2006 from a short illness. To honor him, Ted and his brothers started a non profit making soccer club in Kenya pakojuniorfc.com to help talented kids from less fortunate families realize their dreams just like it happened to them once upon a time. It was their way of giving back to the community what was once given to them. In January 2013, an unfortunate event happened to Ted where he narrowly missed loosing his life by a hairline after a severe spleen rupture that caused 95% internal bleeding. He fortunately underwent a successful 4 hour emergency splenectomy operation and a full body blood transfusion. By God's grace, his life was miraculously spared. During the recovery period, which took about half of 2013, he couldn't do anything active especially from the fact that he's an active Tennis player. He was so bored and depressed at how his life had taken a different turn so suddenly. One day, a close sympathizing friend told him to audition for a TV commercial advertisement she saw on Facebook, anything to just keep him active. Having no prior experience or training in acting, he had nothing to lose and decided to take on the bull by the horns and just do it for the heck of it. To his total disbelief, he got the role 2 days later! He went for more auditions and was cast in 2 other projects within the same month. He straight away caught the acting bug and enrolled into acting classes. Its been less than a year since his acting debut yet he has already been cast into speaking roles in 3 independent movies including a Batman/Caped Crusader movie, Theory of Conflict movie and an NBC pilot series among numerous other projects.
