Maurice Steenbergen

Maurice Steenbergen started his career in the entertainment industry in 1992 at the age of 19. This is when he produced a global hit single called "Poing". It's often referred to as the break trough record for the harder styles of Rave music. It was also the inspiration for popular Rave crew "2 Unlimited", for creating their global hit single "No Limits". Highlights of his career include performing live at the legendary "Limelight" club in New York and being invited by Rick Rubin to discuss the possibility of bringing the music of Rotterdam Records to the USA. Ultimately, "Poing" was featured on 175 compilation titles and is estimated to sell well over 5 million copies. After creating more underground tracks on Rotterdam Records, Maurice got into music video production. Already schooled as a graphic designer he went on and created music videos for DJ Paul Elstak, Kadoc and The Klubbheads. His first music videos soon got airtime on MTV and a Dutch equivalent called TMF (The Music Factory). Ultimately Maurice became one of the more popular creators of music videos in The Netherlands. He won the Buma NL Award for best music video in 2011 and was nominated for two more awards in 2013. In 2009 Maurice decided to create his first documentary called: "Oldschool Renegades", and starts getting artists excited for the idea. Ultimately released in 2013, this documentary features most legends of the early Rave scene in the 90's, including Moby, The Prodigy, Frankie Bones, 808 State, SL2, Joey Beltram, Technotronic and numerous others. The documentary premiered in Amsterdam during the ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) and had it's international premiere at the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival (CPH:DOX) in 2013.
