Dan Sowels was born in Pontiac, Michigan and grew up in Holly. Throughout junior high he developed a fascination with film and acting which only increased in high-school. He wasn't into sports, and struggled with what he wanted to do with his life. In his sophomore year, he took dramatic arts, theater tech, and finally TV Production in his senior year where he won the district award for best music video in his class, which was a spoof of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" He began making short films and sketches on YouTube, ranging from horror, to science-fiction to comedy. Out of all the genres, science fiction remains his most favored one, as he's said it's more compelling and "you can come up with whatever you want, no matter how absurd it may be". In 2013, Dan completed his first feature length film, titled Odyssey. He is now working on the short film titled "The Titan Project" set to be released in 2017.
