Chinedu Unaka is a Nigerian American comedian, actor and writer born and raised in Los Angeles. He is the son of two Nigerian immigrants, Christian and Nneka Unaka. Both of his parents worked as educators and social workers in the Los Angeles area. Chinedu got his start in Entertainment through his pure love for stand up comedy, while he was attending the University of California Santa Barbara. After graduating from UCSB he joined Teach For America and went on to work as a Special Education Teacher for a few years in the inner city of LA, while completing a Masters in Education at LMU. During this time Chinedu was also performing stand up comedy at night and studying to become an actor and writer. After grad school, Chinedu started touring colleges and clubs nation wide. He was a finalist in NBC's Stand up for Diversity competition and later starred in a HBO short The Big Chop after getting casted in his first TV series on The Mindy Project. Chinedu most recently can be seen in two feature films: It's a Party and Two Minutes of Fame and released an hour long comedy album called Mostly Kidding. Besides performing, Chinedu enjoys playing and watching basketball, traveling, documentaries and spending time with his family and friends. More information on Chinedu can be found on his website.
