John was born in the small town of Taylor, Texas near Austin, Texas where he played football beginning in the 4th grade until his senior year in high school. He is the youngest of four children and the only boy. He then joined the Air Force at age 19 and became a weapons loader on fighter and bomber aircraft. His first duty station was in the Netherlands where he deployed for the first Gulf War, DESERT STORM. After 12 years John earned a commission as a second lieutenant in the Air Force and became a Space and Missile officer in Air Force Space Command. His first assignment was as a nuclear launch control officer in Montana where he commanded 200 nuclear missiles and 40 officers from an underground launch control facility in a region the size of West Virginia. Following nuclear alert duty, John was stationed at Cape Canaveral Air Station, Florida where he launched the Space Shuttle Atlantis and several Delta II rockets carrying GPS satellites and a NASA space telescope. After four years in Florida, John was stationed in California where he performed space surveillance and monitored the safety of the International Space Station and other human space flight missions. John attained the rank of major/O-4 prior to his retirement from the Air Force in 2013. In total, John served 24 years and 2 months. John then moved back to the Austin, Texas area where he now pursues acting in television, film and commercials. He is an active athlete and enjoys the outdoors playing golf, hunting and fishing as well as enjoying all that the Austin region has to offer.
