Luanda Farinha was born in the countryside of São Paulo. Older daughter of a chemical engineer and a social worker. She was raised to always pursue her dreams, to be very creative and self confident on everything she does. At 17 years of age she went to Sydney, Australia as an exchange student. This experience was extraordinary and made her question and investigate many cultural issues. She then decided to major in International Relations, which gave her even more cultural vision and impacted the way she works and makes movies. She worked for years with business and trading, export, supply chain and marketing. In 2012, she then decided to leave the multinational world and chase the big dream, graduated from Escola de Cinema in São Paulo. Her first short film was selected for the Cannes Film Festival (SFC) and since then her passion for filmmaking only increased. With an extremely hybrid career, she has been working with a lot different people and producing several projects.
