Ushna Shah is a Canadian Pakistani actor. Born to Iranian and Pakistani parents, her mother mother being the acclaimed actor and radio personality Ismat Tahira, Ushna has held a penchant for acting since a very young age. She started off in acting in her brother (theatre director Shah Sharahbeel)'s productions for plays such as You Only Marry Twice, The Phantom of the Opera etc. Ushna continued to perform in theatre productions throughout high school as well as community theatre in Toronto and Vancouver. Midway through University, Ushna left for Pakistan to pursue a full time career in film acting. Having starred in several high grade productions, Ushna was launched into stardom after starring in mega serial Bashar Momin. She continued to star in films such as "teri meri love story" (which could not be released due to production disputes) and the interactive online film "Oye Kuch Kar Guzar". Ushna was once again brought into limelight after her heavily praised performance as a beggar-turned-courtesan in the critically acclaimed mega-serial "Alif Allah Aur Insaan". Ushna's first language is English, she speaks it fluently (in a Canadian accent) and excels at speaking in various accents. She also speaks fluent Urdu and Punjabi.
