Born in 1987, in the city of São Paulo, Octávio Tavares studied Diseño de Imagen y Sonido, at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), in Argentina, where he codirected alongside Francisca Oyaneder the short films "Lima" (2010), "Ventanas" (2013) and "Lo Que Dicen Del Monte " (2014), winner of the awards for best short film at BAFICI and Festival Latinoamericano de São Paulo. Was sound designer of the short film "No Hay Bestias" (2015) and the sound editor of short film "EntreTierra" (2016). Between 2014 and 2015, he co-wrote and directed the feature film "Cor-de-Rosa - Los Estados Unidos del Fuego", alongside Camila Maluhy and Francisca Oyaneder, with whom he developed a more solid sound of research and audiovisual realization. Inside the production company Filmes da Diaba, he cocreated and codirected the first Brazilian visual album "Oyá-Tempo", for singer and visual artist Luiza Lian. From this partnership, they developed Filmes da Diaba, an independent production company responsible for the creation and production of audiovisual works. Together, they made music videos for Xênia França (Nave), Liniker and the Caramelows (Calmô) and the new short films for Luiza Lian (Azul Moderno and Mil Mulheres) and for the singer Alice Marcone (Noite Quente).
