Dilia Oviedo-Luciano

Dilia Oviedo-Luciano is a female artist from the Dominican Republic. She's been dedicated to visual arts for the past decade. She made her way to Barcelona in 2008 to study photography and her work has focused mainly on portraiture and fashion. Her passion for fashion photography grew because it relies in the creation of characters and visual narratives which has driven her to initiate her path towards her ultimate goal of filmmaking. During these years sailing through photojournalism, portraiture, advertising and fashion photography, Dilia started to experiment with time lapse and video portraits mixing movement and music. In the process of studying and working, She's also had the privilege to collaborate with many artists who have become her teachers and close friends. Dilia has been surrounded by art and artists from many different fields and cultures throughout her whole life. She got her first camera when she was 10 years old and She's been fascinated by the magical world of movies since she was a small kid. She moved back to the Dominican Republic in July 2012, and for the past 7 years, she's split her time between the Big Apple and the small island, developing personal projects, and teaching various workshops in one of Dominican Republic's main Art Schools 'Chavon' as well as pursuing other educational and professional opportunities.
