Origionally from Upstate New York, Jeff Slaven relocated to New Zealand in 1985. Having an already established back ground in commercial radio announcing, he went to work doing voice overs for radio and television. He acquired an agent and began working as an extra for various commercials and ads on television and film. In the late 80s, he became a reasonably regular extra for Gibson Group's comedy show Skitz. In the early to mid 90's, he hosted a radio show on Wellington's Pirate FM and gained a cult following until the death of station owner Derek Archer forced the sale of the frequency. Jeff also began writing film scripts and eventually caught the attention of several Producers and Directors including Wellington Film maker Ross Bevan who commissioned Jeff to write a total of three feature length film scripts under Ross's company Cult Classic Pictures. After the death of Ross in '2010, Jeff continued to write and act. In '2012, he wrote, directed, produced and acted in his short film 'Moon Over Mercedes' which was intended as an ongoing web series. Also to his credit is a semi satirical musical web series called jeffguitar.avi of which there were 12 episodes. Jeff Slaven still resides in Wellington New Zealand and works in film and Internet projects.
