Thomas P. Wagner

Tom Wagner helps fiction and non-fiction films with climate change, natural disasters, and space science. He also appears as himself in documentaries, educational programs, and news programs. A geologist by training, Tom has worked at NASA and the National Science Foundation developing missions to study other planets, the Earth's polar regions, climate change, sea level rise, and geosciences. He has also served on White House science committees and serves as reviewer for various climate change reports, including those of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Tom holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Earth science with a specialty in volcanology. He has also lived in Papua New Guinea, where he taught at the national university while also consulting for the United Nations and World Bank. He later moved to the US Antarctic program, and has been to the South Pole six times, including crossing the Drake Passage by ship. Tom frequently speaks about science, planets, and global warming to everyone from kids to business executives with talks and podcasts scattered about the web.
