A journalist by degree and producer by heart, Joana Domingues is a Portuguese film and tv producer. With more than 10 years of experience, she developed and created documentary series for the RTP tv channels (among other Portuguese TV channels). She has also been working with some of the most well-known and awarded Russian and Ukrainian music video directors such as Alan Badoev, Kadim Tarasov, Leonid Kolosovsky, and Natela Krapivina. In 2014 she started producing short films with the awarded Portuguese director Bruno Gascon that have won several awards in national and international film festivals. In 2017 the company Caracol Studios was funded by her among three other partners. Since then Joana is the General Manager of the company and has produced three feature films: "Carga" by Bruno Gascon, one of the top 5 most seen Portuguese movies in 2018 and sold to several territories around the world, "Sombra" directed by Bruno Gascon and selected to Shanghai International Film Festival 2021, Raindance Film Festival, Barcelona Film Festival and Mastercard Off Camera 2021 a film that has been pre-selected to represent Portugal in Oscars 2022, among others and sold to several territories such as USA, China, Índia, LATAM and that was also successfully released in Portugal on October 2021. In 2021 she also produced "Evadidos, Gascon's 3rd movie that must be completed in 2022. Joana Domingues is currently developing new projects with new directors and finishing the post-production from two tv-series and pre-producing "Autumn" a co-production with the UK that will be the first feature film from director António Sequeira. Elected in 2021 to the Board of the European Film Academy as one of the representatives for Portugal and Spain she has also been one of the MatchMe! producers 2019 from Locarno Festival.
