Jeffrey Lee DuPree

Jeffrey Lee DuPree was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Gilda and Steve DuPree. DuPree's Deaf lineage extends six generations. DuPree's interest and love of storytelling are rooted in his academic years, beginning in the fifth grade. In the fifth grade, he won his first award for writing and he continued to write throughout his academic journey. Two literature teachers that supported and encouraged him and his creativity were Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Maryann Barth. To this day, he holds both teachers dearly in his heart as they believed in him and assisted him in making his dream become possible. DuPree's writing encompasses many genres, but his abilities, skills, and interests are highly in the genre of horror and drama. DuPree's first wife was a poet and model. The marriage ended in divorce. Several years later, DuPree was fortunate enough to meet his present wife Thanya Marie DuPree, who was an actress from Puerto Rico. DuPree has four children; one child from his first marriage and three children from his second marriage. Three of the four children are also actors and are working with an acting coach, an actor from "Son of Anarchy", Andy McPhee Not only is DuPree a talented writer, or Talent Agent, but also an extremely skilled advocate for Deaf children's rights, the use of American Sign Language and the richness of Deaf Culture. He and his family contribute time and resources to various charities within the Los Angeles area. Due to Jeffrey Lee DuPree's activism, in 2017 a humanitarian award was bestowed upon him. For his creative screenplays, he has received 22 awards with his 60 official selections in the film festival circuits. DuPree is also a published poet; his poetry published in book form. DuPree has worked as a screenwriter and also a producer. He has and is working with several "A-list" people in the independent film industry. In addition, DuPree encourages and teaches American Sign Language to actors; i.e. Robert LaSardo and has worked with Richard Grieco as his Personal Assistant (PA) and driver. DuPree represents several movie stars, one who is Chris Furrh (Lord of the Flies) as a SAG.AFTRA franchised Talent Agent. DuPree and his wife are known as the "Hollywood Couple' as one of the "sweetest, coolest couples in this town." They are often seen not only at various Hollywood social events, but also as a 'couple' who work arduously with many charities, in screenwriting and film making industries, and, of course, teaching, encouraging and loving their children. DuPree and his family are truly forging the way for Deaf professionals and Deaf children in the arts.
