Mansur K. Rashid is a photo-artists (15+ years), filmmaker (10+ years), and creative visionary (7+ years). As a youngling he traveled the world (15+ countries); living in Singapore, Malaysia for a year before moving to Dubai, UAE for 10 years; before moving to Atlanta, Georgia for high school. After graduating, Mansur moved to Washington D.C. where he obtained his BA in Media, Journalism & Film, while Minoring in Photography; at Howard University. While at Howard, he continued his passions for filmmaking, photography, and art; receiving several awards and film festival recognitions along the way. Mansur also had the opportunity to work for The Tonight Show Starring: Jimmy Fallon; curate the first Pro-Black Exhibition, that was showcased at NYU: Abu Dhabi; and direct a 16mm short film with Czech Opera singer, Klára Cibulková, at the prestigious FAMU in Prague, Czechia; before graduating Magna Cum Laude, with Honors. Mansur has served as the advisor on many creative projects ranging from films, animations, voice-over work, audition readiness and much more. He is the visionary behind the very first narrative short film on police brutality; currently being streamed on KweliTV and was accepted into 17 film festivals. Four of Mansur's photographs have been displayed in Gallery 1280 at the Atlanta Woodruff Arts Center in Midtown. He has taken photos for a few online and newsprint publications including: GAYA Magazine (Nov.-Dec. Issue), MEFEATER Online Publication and Howard University's The Hilltop. Mansur also holds two Howard University School of Communications Paul Robeson Awards: one for Creative Excellence in Photojournalism (20th Million Man March); the other, for Editing in a Film ("Same Fruit, Different Tree").
