Takiya Coley

Takiya Coley is an actress, film editor, sound designer and director. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, her love for the arts started with the art of dance. Being trained in African, ballet, jazz, modern and hip-hop dance throughout her younger years, Takiya developed a deep passion for performing. It was dance that helped her discover the world of acting. She went on to train as an actress for eight years in New York City before moving to Los Angeles in 2006 to further pursue her career. She added the title of filmmaker to her resume when she started writing and shooting her own films, and then falling in love with the post-production process. Already possessing a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, Takiya just recently earned her M.F.A. in Editing and Sound Design at Mount Saint Mary's University, Los Angeles in December 2019.
