Lionel Reynaud was born on June 6, 1968, in Annecy-le-vieux, Haute-Savoie, France, to Mireille Reynaud (née Ceccon), and Lucien Reynaud. He has French and Italian ancestry. Reynaud spent most of his youth in Annecy, so called the little Venise of the Alpes with its downtown's water channels and its crystal clear lake. Lionel Reynaud has always been a movie fan. From the age of 14, the idea of being an actor began to surface, but it has yet followed a more traditional education. In 1991, he graduated in Computer Systems from the Higher Institute of Aeronautics and Space of Toulouse, France. While in Toulouse, Lionel joined a troupe of student theater and began playing on stage. In 1993, Lionel Reynaud moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Two weeks after his arrival, he met the woman who would become his wife, Sylvie Tessier. They had two daughters (Camille Reynaud and Alexia Reynaud born in 1996 and 1997) and still live in the Montreal area. In 1995, Reynaud made his first steps in an improv amateur league and never stopped being an improviser since. In 2007, Reynaud made his professional acting debut in a play with "Cuisine et dépendance". This was the first play under the banner of "Les productions du losange", a production company he founded with Jessie Chamberland. The company produced a second play in 2011, "J'aime beaucoup ce que vous faites" in which Reynaud had also a role. In 2010, Reynaud made his film debut in a small role in the film "Filière 13" directed by Patrick Huart.
