Stacy Mercedes is known for her determination and strong passion. Born in Manhattan, New York, to Yolanda Quiroz, Yolanda being a television producer, director and a show host, Stacy has always had a love for the television and film industry. The idea of working in entertainment was cultivated in her at a young age as her mother always took her to television studios to see shows being filmed and when her mother was working she was always by her side helping her, eventually becoming her Production Assistant. Stacy has been involved in the art, film and television industries in the Dominican Republic since early childhood. Her first appearance in the screen was in 1999 in the short film "Soltera con Compromisos" by the Director Yolanda Quiroz then she worked as an extra in the film "La Fiesta del Chivo" by the famous Director Luis Llosa. She Studied Film and TV Production at Southwest Middle School with Ms. Dorrie Cohn in Orlando, Florida and since 2012 she has been attending the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) Magnet Program in Film and TV Production at Dr. Phillips High School with Mr. Elliot Schwartz. Also in 2012 she wrote, directed and produced one of her first short films, "What a Morning" (Spanish Version "Pero Que Mañana" subtitled in Spanish language) and the Commercial "Hillshire Farms", among many more. Since then her work has been displayed in a numerous amount of prestigious film festivals and she has won many awards, most recently she received Best Documentary for the film she wrote, directed and produced "The National Aquarium of the Dominican Republic.
