Luis J. Rodriguez

Luis J. Rodriguez is founding director of Barking Rooster Entertainment and has served as script consultant on two TV series--Fox TV's "Gang Related" and FX TV's "Snowfall." He has helped produce the documentary film by writer-director John F. Cantu "Rushing Waters, Rising Dreams: How the Arts are Transforming a Community" (2012) and "A Love Poem to Los Angeles" (2017). He is the author of fifteen books in poetry, fiction (a novel and short story collection), children's literature, memoir, and nonfiction, including the 1993 bestselling memoir "Always Running, La Vida Loca, Gang Days in L.A." and its 2011 sequel "It Calls You Back: An Odyssey Through Love, Addiction, Revolutions, and Healing," a finalist for National Book Critics Circle Award.
