Matthew began perusing acting as a sophomore at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN. In his time there, Matthew performed in eight Main Stage productions, twice earning the Ryan Champion Award for Excellence in Theatrical Performance (2007 and 2009). After graduating Cum Laude in May of 2009, Matthew moved to Indianapolis, IN to further pursue his acting career. In Indianapolis, Matthew worked with several professional theatre companies and multiple commercial agencies. In 2011, Matthew joined the professional theatre company NoExit Performance as a Company Member. He initially served as the Director of Development, tripling their capital in a single season, he then served as the Production Manager from 2012-2014. Matthew performed a variety of roles in Indianapolis including several leading roles eventually earning the "Up and Coming Indianapolis Actors" award in 2013. Not long after, however, Matthew decided to peruse post-graduate actor education and moved to New York City in March of 2014. Also in 2014, Matthew's first feature film, Suck It Up Buttercup, was released and began its national film festival tour. The film has since been featured as an Official Selection at several festivals and won many awards including Best Feature Drama, Best Ensemble (Bare Bones International Festival), and Best of Festival, Jury Award (Hoboken Film Festival). Matthew attends the prestigious William Esper Studio in New York City, studying with the nominal teacher, William Esper, in the studio's two year core training program.
