Istvan Lettang

Istvan has been working in media and the film industry since 2001 as Camera operator then in 2012 he started as a Director of Photography. He immigrated to the United States in Jun 2000 and he speaks fluent English, Hungarian, and Slovak. His family has always been involved in arts. His grandmother and sister are painters. His uncle John Lettang was a black and white photographer in New York city taking pictures of celebrities. Istvan spent a lot of time with his dad fishing and observing nature, this has also inspired his images. His past studies and experience in engineering allows him to see contours in space. This skill is how he utilize and executes his vision as an artist in an efficient matter. Istvan's work is inspired by Cinematographers like Emmanuel Lubezki, Janusz Kaminski, Roger Deakins, Vilmos Zsigmond and Hoyte van Hoytema. His favorite directors are: Denis Villeneuve, Christopher Nolan, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick, Alfonso Cuarón, Akira Kurosawa
