Juan Pablo Daranas Molina (known as Juampa) is a Cuban filmmaker and the founder of FILA20, a Cuban production company based in NYC. FILA20 films have been screened in top festivals and online platforms, such as Sundance, HollyShorts, HBO New York Latino FF, NALIP, New Orleans, Rooftop Films, Warsaw, Amazon Video, and Short of the Week. Juampa's thesis project at New York University's Graduate Film Program won Spike Lee's Film Production Fund and the NYU HEAR US Awards. His feature script Zoe won the NYU Purple List and was selected for the NYU Production Lab Development Studio. Juampa's first feature film as writer-director-producer, Domestic Animals, is in post-production. His second feature as writer-producer wrapped principal photography in Italy in 2022.
