Fred Muthandeni Phiri

Fred Muthandeni Phiri is an award winning Zambian filmmaker, media and entertainment professional with over 19 years experience working across music and entertainment, print, radio, TV, live events, marketing and communication. He is co founder of Elixur Integrated Media, a multi media production and marketing consultancy company, and Media 365, a cause related communications and creative agency, both based in Lusaka, Zambia and working across the continent and internationally. He has been recognised for his work, receiving a 2014 Africa Magic Viewer's Choice Award (AMVCA) for Best Drama for the series Love Games, for which he also won Best Drama and Best Director at the Zambian Film, Television & Radio Awards (ZAFTARS) in the same year. Fred has lead and participated in several milestone campaigns and productions including the ground breaking and award winning HIV campaign One Love Kwasila, which featured the series Club Risky Business; the Airtel One 8 campaign; 3 consecutive annual Zambian Music Awards from 2013 to 2015; the biographical documentary series My Story and the second season of the acclaimed local drama series Fever, both produced for M-Net's Zambezi Magic channel. In addition he has led creative and production on numerous multimedia integrated campaigns, corporate videos, documentaries, TV commercials, training videos, radio programmes, live events and activations for brands including UNICEF, UNDP, Africa Development Bank, Cavmont Bank, Financial Services Deepening Zambia, World Vision, MTV Staying Alive Foundation and MTV Africa, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Community Development, Samsung, Java Foods and Cavendish University as well as providing fixer services for BBC, Al Jazeera and Vice TV. Fred has also served as regional committee member and juror for the Loeries, the prestigious award for creativity and excellence in advertising, marketing and PR for Africa and the Middle East.
