Ryan Ali is a Syrian-Canadian actor with a diverse and eclectic upbringing, having followed his family as a child from Syria to Montreal, to Syria, and finally Montreal again. He studied Civil Engineering at Concordia University before fully committing to his acting career in 2016. Ryan has since gone on to make a wide range of appearances on screen, most notably opposite of Salma Hayek and Alexander Skarsgård in the TIFF 2018 Special Presentation The Hummingbird Project, directed by Kim Nguyen. Ryan's valuable lived-experience, his physical versatility, and his fluency in English, French and Arabic, make him a unique and important storyteller. His most recent credits include the CBC/Paramount+ television series SkyMed, as well as the heartfelt short film He Would Say. You can catch Ryan's proudest work to date in the upcoming queer revolutionary Queen Tut, as he takes on his first lead role in a feature film.
