Ekaterina Ivanova, born in Russia, began her dancing passion at the age of 6. Her parents discovered her raw talent at a very young age and supported Katya's desire to perform professionally on stage. 8 years later while simultaneously studying music and dance, she graduated from the School of Prokofiev. Katya Ivanova continued her music education and perfected her vocal craft at the College of Gnesine. Ekaterina's professional career started when she was accepted into one of the most famous schools, Opera Center of Galina Vishnevskaya, in Moscow, Russia-furthering her singing and dancing skills. There she traveled internationally performing with some of the biggest names in Russian opera history. Upon graduating, Ekaterina understood the importance of higher education therefore attended Moscow State University of Humanitarian Studies, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science: International Relations. Soon after, she became a member of Russia's famous choreographer, Alla Duhova's : Todes Contemporary Russian Ballet in Moscow for 3 years. There she trained in International Latin and Standard Ballroom dance. In 2011, she was selected to perform as debutant at the prestigious yearly event, Vienna Ball in Moscow. During the same year, Ekaterina moved to the United States in Los Angeles, California to live her dream as a professional dancer. Right away she joined the Grizzly Dance Company where she was trained in Salsa, Bachata, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Reggaeton, along the way she learned various lift techniques and tricks. She has numerous stage experiences dancing and performing with a team on some of the biggest events such as the Los Angeles Salsa Congress, World Latin Dance Cup in Las Vegas, and many more grand festivals. She currently dances and trains with her partner Javier Rebollar; putting their talents together they have already made a success appearing in Dancing with The Stars TV Show and winning competitions such as USA Dance National Salsa Championship, Borderline Salsa Competition and the Afro-Latin Bachata Festival in Las Vegas. Ekaterina has also won 1st place in Top Solo Female Competition of 2013. As a dancer she has worked on a CBS commercial for The Arsenio Hall Show. She's made appearances on CNN Latino and hit show Lagrimita Y Costel, Nosches con Platanito, 12 Corazones. Together with her partner Javier they have founded the company JKDANCEFORYOU, growing together as dancers, teachers and performers around the world.
