Francis Chen

Francis Chen was born on Christmas Day, December 25th, in San Jose, California to Taiwanese parents Mark Chen, a computer engineer, and Olivia Yang. His parents divorced when Francis was three. His father re-married to Cynthia Chiu, a Chinese teacher, when he was nine years old and lived with his half-brother Sean Chen (10.5 years younger) in San Jose. Francis graduated from the prestigious Bellarmine College Preparatory of San Jose in 2007. Francis mainly focused on sports in high school. He played a lot of basketball and rarely thought about acting. In fact, he only auditioned for high school production of The Crucible because of a dare he made with his best friend. But since then, he fell in love with the craft and decided to pursue acting as a career. In 2011, Francis graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a degree in theatre, performing in a variety of productions, such as Metamorphoses, Spring Awakening, Twelfth Night; Or What Have You, and Cannibal King. A huge sports fanatic who has a unique fear of dogs, Francis resides in Los Angeles, where he has won a variety of Best Dramatic and Comedic Actor Awards in several festivals.
