Valeska Freire Marulanda is a Venezuelan/Spanish filmmaker that lives and works in the United States. She founded Magic Haus Films, a film production company located in Orlando Florida, where she currently works as a film producer. Valeska's work references gender experience and the issue of self-identification as the consequence of a mixture of cultures. Her films challenge the division between the territory of memory and the realm of experience, and her practice engages a multi-layered process combining experimental, narrative film and documentary. Her work has been exhibited in several shows and film festivals including "SMFA Film and Animation Annual Festival" at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, "Eventfilm 2013," "Kill The Lights" and "Reach: One Minute Vid Fest." She earned a Fine Arts degree from SMFA and Tufts University and an MFA in Film Production from Full Sail University. Valeska also freelances as crew for independent films and TV shows in the Central Florida area.
