Macarena Carrizosa is a filmmaker based in NYC. She works in narrative films, music videos, commercials and specializes in documentaries. Her highlights as a director include the documentary short, Monday to Monday, awarded best documentary director by the New York TV & Film Festival and Platinum Award at the Independent Film Awards. Monday to Monday was also screened as part of the official selection of the Oscar Qualifying Rhode Island Film Festival, the Hollywood Screenings Film Festival, the Los Angeles CineFest, London Monthly Film Festival, Miami Independent Film Festival, and the NEZ International Film Festival. Her current work in progress, Dahlia, is a short film about a domestic violence victim. Macarena graduated as a Performing Artist from the Margarita Irun Theater Acting Institute in Paraguay. She moved to NYC in 2014 to study Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy. She continued her specialization in acting at the Acting Studio and Producer's Club with the acclaimed coach and author, Anthony Abeson. Prior to moving to NYC Macarena earned her degree in Business Administration and specialized in Business Management at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Montpellier in France. Since the beginning of her career, she's worked in several departments of audiovisual production including Production, Camera, Electrical, Grip, and Sound. Her technical knowledge, leadership and innate creativity, makes her a unique asset for any audiovisual project.
