Taylor 'Tex' Walker, the boy from Broken Hill, became Adelaide's first AFL NSW Scholarship player in 2006. Prior to being drafted in 2007, he guided North Broken Hill to a Premiership, booting seven goals, and was named best-on-ground despite being just 17. He had a breakout year in 2011, kicking 63 goals. He captained the Crows between 2015 and 2018, twice being voted the AFLPA Best Captain, in 2016 and 2017. Walker is a three-time All Australian nominee and two-time leading goalkicker for Adelaide. He kicked 54 goals during Adelaide's Premiership push in 2017. Walker led the way in Adelaide's forward line with a Club-high 43 goals in 2019. The co-captain booted his 400th AFL goal against Melbourne in Round 11. After a challenging year for the Crows, Walker made the tough decision to step down as captain at the end of 2019. He and wife Ellie welcomed their first child, Hugo James, on November 7, 2019. In 2020, Walker played his 200th game for the Club and became Adelaide's all-time leading goalkicker when he kicked his 441st in Round 18.
