Russell Hay

Russell Hay was born in Morgan City, LA, and spent most of his childhood in Houma, LA. He became interested in film from an early age when his friend was given an 8mm camera. He attended the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts for high school. At LSMSA, he was involved in the technical side of the theater department, focusing on lighting. Fast forward to after college, he moved to Seattle, and became involved in the local circus community where he became the technical director for Circus of Dreams, a benefit circus show. Though the circus show closed, he continued to need to be involved in performance art, and returned to his love of film.
