Eduardo Ayres Soares, director, editor, and instructor, was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil in 1989. He has an MFA in Film Production at the University of Utah and was the recipient of an exchange study abroad program on film at the Allegheny College and NYU Tisch. He has a Bachelors's in Visual Arts at the Lutheran University of Brazil. He started his film career at Querosene Pictures, working on several documentaries and commercials, ending as the senior editor of the weekly TV series "Banquete Experiências Gastronômicas," which he directed the last two episodes. Upon receiving a full graduate assistantship at the University of Utah, Eduardo moved to Salt Lake City. Eduardo's thesis film Chasing the Dragon, a short film about a transgender detective investigating a prescription drug case, won several awards, including best actress and best cinematography. The first "best actress award" given to a transgender actress in the state of Utah. Also, Eduardo taught commercial filmmaking and film production at the University of Utah and Writing for Games in California. Nowadays, he works as a director and editor in Los Angeles and is the director of Slamdance TV in Park City, Utah.
