Ian White is an award-winning director who has been based in South East Asia since 1995. Ian White's work has been described as visually striking and immensely thought provoking. He has directed and produced films in both drama and documentary formats. His work has been screened internationally and broadcast on television networks such as BBC, ABC, A&E - Biography and History channels, CCTV, CNA and CNN. Ian White has been the recipient of numerous awards over the years including a BANF World Media Award for best documentary of the year (Lifestyle Category) and several Asian TV awards. Regularly commissioned by The United Nations to produce documentary films, his most powerful work has been mentioned in UN Security Council meetings. His journeys have taken him through combat zones, refugee camps and opium plantations. He has filmed along side bomb disposal squads, mine clearance teams and with medical units in both remote and hostile environments. He speaks fluent Indonesian, Malay and Tetum (East Timorese) and is conversant in both Thai and Khmer.
