Nikita Chaudhry is an actor, producer, dancer, singer, and activist based between Los Angeles and New York City. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, she initially moved to New York to study and train at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, graduating in only three years time with a BFA in Drama, minor in Performance Studies and Honors Certificate in Theatre Studies. Post-grad she continued to train at/with Upright Citizens Brigade, Bob Krakower, Anthony Abeson, Stan Kirsch Studios, BGB Studios, amongst many others. She has been recognized in dance with a nomination for Outstanding Movement/Choreography in the New York Innovative Theatre Awards and an award for the Most Original Piece in the South Asian International Performing Festival. In addition to her stage and screen work, along with various national commercials and print ads, Nikita is deeply passionate about social justice and community organizing. She has worked as a consultant for various organizations, most notably teaming with Women's March national for the Women's Convention in Detroit and most recently campaigning with Nithya Raman for LA City Council and Chalo Vote. She also co-founded and produced the first-ever TAMASHA, a festival of South Asian performing arts in New York City, and has served on the board of national organization South Asian Americans Leading Together (SAALT). Through elevating the stories of all women, people of color, LGBTQ folk, and those marginalized by the oppressive systems laid upon them, Nikita enjoys developing and performing in work that allows for real social change, and projects that partner with directly-impacted organizations. In her available time, Nikita is an educator. She has worked as fitness instructor, with a specialty in kickboxing/boxing, and has experience teaching children musical theater in school programs.
