Louis Joon was born in West London to an English mother and an Iraqi Egyptian father. Through working as an apprentice in a costume department at Appleton Brothers in Chiswick, he obtained the skills to create military period specialized head gear for the film industry, and has worked on some of the biggest period dramas and science fiction films ever made, (specializing in sword and sandal epics). His extensive knowledge in his specialized materials brought him to work closely with Alexander McQueen, and his work with McQueen can be seen presently in the Victorian Albert Museum. His extensive work on the Oliver Stones Alexander brought him closer to the industry, and in 2013 he started his own film company and released his own feature film "Learning Hebrew (A Gothsploitation Movie)", which he wrote produced and directed, and had a supporting acting role.
