Glenn Østen Anderson is an award-winning documentary director, producer and journalist who currently resides in Virginia. He left his role as a Senior Producer for Social News and Streaming Video at BBC News in 2015. While at the BBC, Glenn partnered with journalist/editor Marko Zoric to launch the BBC News YouTube channel. Before joining the BBC, Glenn spent a decade working as a freelance and staff producer/journalist at broadcasters and publications including Military.com, CBS College Sports (CSTV), Financial Times - Money Media, The Guardian (UK) and Runner's World - Rodale, to name a few. His camera and editing work has been featured on HBO Real Sports, CBS College Sports Network, CBS Sportsline, Fox Sports Net (via Competitor Group), YES Network (New York), VS (as Outdoor Life Network), WNBC - TV (New York), the US Department of Energy website, the US Department of State website (& associated social media) and in branded content projects for Motown-Universal, Nike Running and New Balance. His work has taken him from college football fields to refugee camps in Haiti and war zones in Afghanistan. His 2009 documentary series about injured FDNY firefighter Matt Long earned him (with Brian Sabin) a Webbys People's Voice Award for Best Sports Video. His 2014 documentary To Remember (with Ian Connors) was acquired by BBC World News and seen in more than 160 countries, earning the pair a Silver Telly Award for documentary and a selection to Washington DC's GI Film Festival. Glenn was previously an Assistant Professor of Mass Communications at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia where he helped the University build a documentary video program and produce the on-campus shot film Santa Girl, directed by Blayne Weaver. Glenn also held an adjunct professorship at James Madison University's School of Media Arts and Design. He has since moved on to become an Assistant Professor of Media and Communication Studies at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Glenn is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (BA 2002), University of Oxford/Wadham College (MSt 2003) & NYU's Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film program (MFA).
