Yisel Pupo is a Sound Designer, Sound Mixer, Actress and Classical Musician currently residing in Los Angeles, hailing from Cuba after working in Spain's film industry for many years. From 2014 to 2018, Yisel worked in Barcelona both on set & in post production. She was on the creative team at El Camaleón Sonido, Deluxe Spain & Moonlight Cinema studios, supervised by Sound Designers & Re-recording Mixers including Marc Orts & Albert Manera. She also taught sound courses at the Center for Innovation and Occupational Training & Pompeu Fabra University in Spain. In 2015 Yisel was nominated for Best Sound at the Gaudì Awards for her work on L'altra Frontera. Before making her way to Spain, Yisel spent most of her young life in classical music. After studying viola since the age of 8, she attended the Amadeo Roldán Superior Music Conservatory while she also studied acting & performed theatre with the Olga Alonso theater group. From 2006 to 2011, she taught Viola & played as a member of many orchestras including the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television Orchestra and the Grand Theater of Havana Symphony Orchestra. Yisel has a Bachelor's Degree in Arts for Sound Musical Production from the Superior Art Institute of Havana & also studied Sound Mixing/Design at EICTV's Graduate Film program. She is currently a Sound Trainee with IATSE 695 representing Sound Technicians for Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
