Monish Prakash is a Los Angeles based filmmaker who graduated from Loyola Marymount University's film program in 2019. He relocated from India in 2015 to pursue his passion for filmmaking. Monish's first short film, The Girl with the Bluest Eyes, was nominated for Faculty award in 2018 at LMU's own-Film Outside the Frame. It is currently doing rounds on the film festival circuit. During his undergrad, he directed two short films, a proof-of-concept for a television series, as well as produced several short films. While writing and directing will always be his true love, he found solace in producing during his time at LMU. He was also the transcription supervisor and subtitle editor for the Academy Award-winning short documentary-Period. End of Sentence. Being born and brought up in a country with a unique diversity in culture and language, Monish's background often serves as an inspiration in his own writing. He favors characters with complex personalities-often with a tragic past. His familiarity with various regional and international film industries gives him an opportunity to draw inspiration from different styles of filmmaking, an opportunity that he utilizes to its full potential.
