Mark was always a natural performer even from a young age when he would put on shows for his parents and local neighbours. He and his brother Matthew even started to charge for tickets and even sell snacks at intermissions. (That his parents had already paid for). After leaving school in 1996, Mark didn't know what he wanted to do for a career, and after leaving an apprenticeship in 1997 at HMV became lost. It was only through a chance meeting at a careers adviser where Mark told them he wanted to be an actor. The advisor told him she had no idea what to suggest but luckily another advisor was listening in who had just visited Netherton Arts Centre. Mark then progressed on to college and graduated university with a BA Hons degree in Drama in 2012.
