Michel Monty

Michel Monty is a director known for Dead Silent (2020), Unbreakable: Live to Tell (2019), and Your Worst Nightmare (2018). He started as a production assistant in the commercial world of Atlanta working for hundreds of clients. After learning of the city's many unknown film-friendly spots, he became a location manager for Mellen Productions in 2012. After two and a half years and plenty of 5am calls, he moved into narrative work as a 2nd 2nd assistant director. He worked his way up to become a first assistant director, running his first tv show, at 26. Since then, Michel has scheduled and run hundreds of episodes, four features, and many commercials, music videos, and shorts. At 28, Michel started directing television. His episodes garnered network acclaim and he has since directed eleven hour-long episodes across three shows and multiple seasons. When not directing Michel continues to 1st AD, working with leading directors, cinematographers, and production designers. He occasionally lectures at Oglethorpe and Clayton State University on the process of directing for film. Otherwise, he can be found listening to history podcasts, writing, and prepping for his next project.
