Maryn James was born, Maryanne Elizabeth Johnson, at Yale Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut to parents, David and Carol Johnson. Her father is Irish, and her mother is of Italian and Polish decent. Maryn spent her childhood in Connecticut before relocating to Florida when she was age 10. Maryn had her first taste of acting when she joined her Middle School Drama Club and portrayed iconic figures in history, such as Marilyn Monroe and Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis. After completing High School, Maryn moved herself to New York City to pursue a professional career as an actor. While attending various prestigious performing arts schools, she also earned a degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology, which further developed her passion for art.
