Elizabeth Thorp was born in Yokosuka, Japan and grew up in Winnetka, Illinois. She attended Kent School in Connecticut and Franklin & Marshall College. After graduation, Elizabeth moved to Washington, DC and began working in public affairs, communications and journalism. As the editor in chief of Capitol File Magazine, the subjects of Elizabeth's interviews included Dr. Jill Biden, Chelsea Clinton, Valerie Jarrett, actress Robin Wright, Donna Karan, Academy award-nominated actor Jeremy Renner, Kerry Russell. The Washington Post's Jonathan Capehart and CNN's Jake Tapper, among others. Elizabeth caught the acting bug later in life after landing a speaking role in season four of Netflix's hit drama "House of Cards." She subsequently enrolled in acting classes and landed additional roles on episodic television, including a role as Secretary of Defense Maria Ford in the "House of Cards" series finale. Elizabeth lives in Washington, DC with her husband and three daughters.
